The Robbinsville Professional Firefighters Association will hold a public ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 11, to mark the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The remembrance will take place at 10 a.m. at the township’s memorial site located at Lake Drive and Hutchinson Road in Town Center.

The ceremony will include a traditional wreath laying in memory of Robbinsville resident Pamela Gaff, who was among the thousands killed in the attacks.

Gaff was working as an insurance broker for Aon Corp. on the 102nd floor of the south tower of the World Trade Center when the building was struck.

Thousands of first responders, survivors and others exposed to the aftermath of the attacks have since died or become seriously ill, raising the death toll well beyond the 2,977 lives initially lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The Robbinsville Fire Department has held the ceremony annually to ensure the community never forgets the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
