The Princeton Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to founder Portia Sonnenfeld with a 35th anniversary season entitled Celebrating the Creativity of Women. The anniversary season commences September 27 and will run until May 15, 2016. Highlights include performances of works by five living composers, four of whom are women. The women composers include Anna Clyne, Jing Jing Luo, Caroline Shaw and Sarah Kirkland Snider.

In addition to the performance of works by living women composers are soloist performances by violinist Jennifer Koh, pianist Joyce Yang and soprano Dawn Upshaw performing songs written for her by Osvaldo Golijov.

Each classical series concert is preceded by a pre-concert talk hosted by music director Rossen Milanov. Milanov is responsible for the season’s ambitious programming, reinforcing the PSO’s commitment to new music as one of the rejuvenating forces in classical music today.
