Teenage Spielbergs and Bigelows can see their work on the big screen at Princeton Public Library’s 2013 Princeton Student Film and Video Festival.

The library is currently accepting original film submissions from 14 to 25 year olds for the festival.

Selected filmmakers will be invited to introduce and talk about their work during the 10th annual festival set for July 17 through 18 at the library, 65 Witherspoon Street, Princeton.

Students can submit original films with running times of 20 minutes or fewer.

The library selects films from a wide range of genres. In previous years, the films included documentaries, comedies, dramas, action, animated and experimental works. The festival features films by local, regional and international students.

Submissions should be sent as a DVD or link to a high-resolution download on a file transfer website.

According to contest rules, music used in the film must be original, obtained from a royalty-free service or purchased and received permission to use.

Students can submit more than one film, but must fill out a form for each.

The deadline for submission is June 1.

A selection committee will screen submissions and evaluate the films for their visual and audio quality. Other criteria include the filmmaker’s ability to edit the film into a creative and well-paced story.

Selected filmmakers will be notified by mid-June.
