The State Street Foundation made a $30,000 gift to the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County to support its Career Launch and work-readiness programs.

The donation will help the Boys & Girls Club provide high school students with the skills needed to enter the workforce and prepare to enter college or technical school.

Career Launch and work-readiness programs help teens develop basic job-readiness skills, such as interviewing and writing resumes. The programs also provide teens with work experiences through Job-Ready and social entrepreneurial programs.

The program grant from the State Street Foundation is set to support the club’s business ventures, including its Bike Exchange, Computer Exchange and Barber Shop. The club plans to develop new opportunities for teens through its youth-development initiatives.

Along with the donation, Princeton Financial Systems employees, part of State Street Corporation’s Global Exchange division, volunteered at the club. They helped out with art projects, around the pool and other recreational activities.
