Maryann Ralph has been unanimously selected by the Plainsboro Public Library’s board of trustees to become its new director. Nickolas Olimpaito, the library’s business manager, has been promoted to assistant director.

Carol Quick, who has served as director since the abrupt departure of former director Eileen Burnash in April, 2013, will retire on March 1 after 16 years at the library.

Ralph will start at the library in mid-February. She comes to Plainsboro from the East Brunswick Public Library, where she has served for the past four years as assistant director. She previously worked at the Piscataway and West Orange public libraries and holds degrees from Franklin & Marshall College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“I look forward to working with the board of trustees and the talented library staff to continue providing high quality services,” Ralph said in a press release. “My goal is to foster an environment of education, collaboration, and community engagement so that the library is a township hub of learning, sharing, and exchanges of ideas, cultures, and resources.”
