Sophia Hertel, Elena Hertel and Zoe O’Beirne, students at Princeton Charter School worked to raise a total of $4,500 for the SAVE animal shelter.
Four Princeton Charter School students have made a difference in the community by supporting SAVE in a major way. Over the past several months, Allison Chou, Elena Hertel, Sophia Hertel and Zoe O’Beirne designed and created animal-themed crafts to raise money for the SAVE animal shelter.
The handmade goods included dog and cat key chains. A family friend was so impressed with the initiative, that he generously offered to match what they made (and then some) as soon as they reached the $750 and $1500 marks. These matches gave the girls even more incentive to sell their wares. Chou, O’Beirne and the Hertel’s generated a total of $4,500 for the new shelter site, scheduled to open in Montgomery Township this fall.
Since 1941, SAVE has been dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond. The SAVE family works tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of many deserving pets by cleaning cages, walking dogs, socializing the animals in residence, and assisting with special events. SAVE depends on the community to support the shelter’s dogs and cats in residence.
SAVE is a private shelter and animal welfare organization dedicated to protecting the health and well being of companion animals in the greater Princeton area.
