Princeton Day School appointed a new Head of the Upper School.

Jason Robinson is set to begin his position at PDS beginning at the start of the 2013-2014 academic year.

Head of School Paul Stellato said Robinson is replacing current Upper School Head Carlton Tucker, who has been with the school for 20 years.

“Mr. Tucker has built an Upper School that stands among the finest of its kind in the community of independent schools. Given his legacy of leadership, it was no surprise that more than 80 school leaders from the most vital independent boarding and day schools in the country, and across the globe, sought this position,” Stellato said.

PDS said Robinson currently holds several positions at the Lawrenceville School including Chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies Program and Director of the Capstone Program. He also teaches government, ethics, law and history courses.

PDS said Robinson was previously an attorney at Covington and Burling/Ross, Dixon & Bell in Washington, DC.

PDS said Robinson earned degrees from Washington and Lee University, University of Virginia and Stanford University Law School.

Stellato said Robinson is a welcome addition to PDS.

“Mr. Robinson is a gifted classroom teacher and thoughtful, accomplished school leader, and we are very pleased to welcome him to Princeton Day School,” Stellato said.
