The Machestic Dragons, a breast cancer survivors and supporters dragon boat team, presented a $ 6,000 donation to the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Princeton.

Funds were raised at the annual Paddle for Pink Dragon Boat Festival held at Mercer County Lake.

The Machestic Dragons has hosted the dragon boat festival each June for the past eight years. Most of the teams participating were from our region, and look forward to this annual event as an opportunity to helping the Machestic’s mission of heightening awareness, to show other survivors there is life after this disease, and to encourage others to face their dragons with an indomitable spirit.

This year seven breast cancer survivor teams participated in Paddle for Pink and the remainder of the 42 teams raced in other divisions for medals and bragging rights.

All proceeds from the Paddle for Pink Festival went to benefit local breast cancer survivor charities that offer rehabilitation and support, including the Breast Cancer Resource Center in Princeton. Additionally, the Macestic’s awarded The Rutgers Cancer Institute , Department of Investigational Therapeutic Research was endowed with 4,000.
