Community Middle School’s Rhythm Company has made its television debut on Classroom Close-up, produced by the New Jersey Education Association and NJN Public Television. The students were visited at school on January 21 to tape their theater dance story. The company presented shows to the public on January 20 and 21.

“The Dream Lives On,” is directed by Deanna Osrowitz with musical direction by Patricia Conover. Scenery for the show was designed and created by Sheena Sanil. Singing and dancing to many well-known Disney songs are featured and include “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Under the Sea,” “Spoonful of Sugar,” and “Circle of Life.”

The television show was first aired on February 28 and March 5. The next viewings are Monday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 19, at 7 a.m.

NJN also filmed an election at Village School for Classroom Closeup. The program, organized by James Eng and Principal Brian Stevens, was created to educate the students on their civic responsibilities. The seven candidates in contention had platforms on specific issues including the war, economy, health care, and education.
