West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading to two fourth grade classes at Village School. The mayor and town council signed a proclamation recommitting the community to engage in programs and activities to make America’s children the best readers in the world.

To celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday, students and staff at Wicoff school wore their pajamas to school. The event was organized by media specialist Donna Wyllie, assistant principal Vincent Myers, and the Wicoff PTA. A suggested donation of $1 per child was collected and more than $750 was donated to the American Cancer Society.

Guest readers included Plainsboro Mayor Peter Cantu, Robert Loretan, superintendent of schools; Victoria Kniewel, assistant superintendent; Mary Ann Isaacs, Millstone River School principal; Ellen Walsh, school board member; Lynn Karr, former Wicoff assistant principal; Colleen Hackett, Plainsboro librarian; and Leah Best-Damron, parent.
