Old Barracks event to explore 18th-century science

On October 11, the Old Barracks Museum, located at 101 Barrack Street in Trenton, will host “Keeping Current: Electricity and Other Marvels in 18th Century Science.”

Learn how to fly a model of the 18th-century Montgolfier hot air balloon, watch recreations of Henry Cavendish and Joseph Priestley’s early gas experiments and partake in early field surveying and field engineering>

Michael Kochan will be playing Benjamin Franklin and will lead participatory experiments, including demonstrations of a scale model of the first ever submarine.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $12.
