West Windsor-Plainsboro semifinalists in the 52nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program have an opportunity to continue in the competition for merit scholarship awards by fulfilling several requirements and advancing to the finalist level of the competition. Close to 90 percent of the semifinalists are expected to become finalists and approximately one-half of the finalists will be selected as merit scholarship winners.

High School North students include Erensu Altan, Adeetee Bhide, Elizabeth R. Bourassa, Alexander J. Chan, Mathew B. Daruwala, Jing Fu, Varun A. Gumaste, Mengxi Ji, Tiffany Jin, Johannes A. Muenzel, Saumitra V. Mungekar, Usha S. Rao, Rollin K. Say, Josh C. Sinha, Julia Xu, Aileen X. Yan, and Yijing Zhang.

High School South students include Can Cai, Pooja Chandrasekhar, Sahm D. Cho, Benjamin A. Cornfield, Karuna Dave, Katherine D. Epstein, Connie Fan, Andrew S. Hwang, Sofia Izmailov, Jessica H. Kim, Jin-Sung Kim, Naveen Kumar, Peter Hogene Kwag, Karen M. Menezes, Nicholas Olarte-Hayes, Kiron M. Roy, Arshabh Sarda, Brian S. Solomon, Ying-Ying Tran, Anne Y. Watanabe, Amber L. Weekes, Alfred Wu, Tong Yu, Bohua Zhan, and Timothy Zhang.

To become a finalist, a semifinalist must have an academic record of very high performance, be endorsed and recommended by the school principal, and earn SAT scores that confirm the student’s earlier qualifying test performance.
