New Jersey All-State Orchestra invited 13 students from WW-P to perform as string players in the 90-member group of musicians.##M:[more]##

High School North musicians include Michelle Huang and David Hui on violin, Kevin Kostiw on viola, Lucy Xu on cello, and Thomas Cochrane on bass.

High School South musicians include Jun Sung Ahn, Sarah Yu, and Daniel Ng on violin; Rebecca Shi and Julia Yan on viola; Jennifer Kao on cello; and Lekha Kanchinadam and Benjamin Hong on bass. Shi and Kanchinadam are also assistant section leaders for their instrument.

Students audition in early December for the three regions of New Jersey, and those accepted perform with their regional orchestra. Those students then audition for the All-State group. Those accepted to this elite ensemble meet for several rehearsals, and then perform at the New Jersey Teacher’s Convention in November of the following school year.
