Local writers and poets will kick off the new year with a public reading celebrating Mercer County voices at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System.

The Kelsey Review 2025 Issue Reading will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville.

The evening will feature readings by contributors to The Kelsey Review, Mercer County Community College’s long-running literary journal, and is designed to welcome both established authors and emerging writers for a night of creative exchange and community connection.

Editors Barbara Krasner and Gwen Weerheim Jones will attend the event to share insights about the journal and preview the upcoming submission period, encouraging new contributors to take part in the publication’s tradition.

Advance registration is appreciated and can be completed online through the Mercer County Library System’s LibCal platform at mcl.org.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Lawrence Library, which supports a wide range of library programming for adults and youth, including author events, book clubs, workshops and special activities.
