Troop 217 Brownies, who will become Junior Girl Scouts next month, include Allie Burke, Alison Schwartz, Amanda Hu, Anisha Amurthur, Arohee Mittal, Christina Rancan, Jade Rowland, Kaylyn Hung, Madison Sloan, Nanaki Singh, Natalie Porfido, Sarah Wu, Shannon Radey, Sonia Kapil, and Victoria Xu. Troop leaders are Helen Rancan and May Rowland.##M:[more]##

Members of troop, based at Dutch Neck School, completed the requirements of the Inchworm of Service Patch Program, an effort encouraging scouts to participate in community service activities. Collectively earning over 300 hours of service in three years, the Brownies have performed holiday songs for residents in assisted living communities, have baked cookies for the local blood drive, and have prepared greeting cards for hospital residents and homebound citizens.
