Gas Station Gouging

Share post:

I recently filled my tank at the Valero station by McCaffrey’s because at the time it had the lowest gas prices.##M:[more]## The price per gallon was shown on the station sign and on the gas pump. Several days later, I looked at my credit card receipt and discovered the price per gallon charged was six cents more than the posted price.

I later discovered that the price posted is for cash not credit. There were no signs that this policy had changed. I believe it is now stated on the station sign. I will no longer buy gas at either of these Valero stations as I feel this should have been made clear or at the least explained to me by the attendant since this hasn’t been the policy in the past. Gas prices are high enough without this added charge.

From now on, I will ask at any station if the price posted is only for cash. Buyer beware!!
