West Windsor Lions Club announced the winners of the fourth annual essay contest, “Why I Love America.” The contest was open to all students in grades 1 through 12, living in West Windsor or Plainsboro. Each winner received a $100 savings bond and a certificate. ##M:[more]## The winners include:

Grade 1, Alexandra Hesterberg, Maurice Hawk School; grade 2, Victoria Xu, Dutch Neck School; grade 3, Josiah Foster, Maurice Hawk School; grade 4, Kerry Shanaberger, Millstone River School; grade 5, Elena Rossano, Millstone River School; grade 6, Robbie Luttrell, Community Middle School; grade 7, Rebecca Tanner, Thomas R. Grover Middle School; grade 8, Ying Ying Yu, Grover Middle School; and grade 11, Tiffany Chiao, High School North.

“With the other West Windsor Lions, I applaud the winners and we congratulate all the participants in our contest,” said club president Frank Schoemann. “It is a pleasure to read the sentiments expressed by these young scholars. Their writing reveals their perception and appreciation of the principles and values that have produced the freedom and unity that makes this country what it is.”
