Devastation on the Delaware author to speak May 19

Author Mary A. Shafer is set to speak at the Trent House Association’s Remembering the Flood of ‘55 meeting May 19.

The annual meeting and program is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the William Trent House Museum, 15 Market St., Trenton.

Shafer is the best-selling author of Devastation on the Delaware, an account of the record-setting weather disaster of 1955. She is set to sign books during the program.

She plans to join Richard W. Hunter, president and principal archaeologist of Hunter Research, to discuss the evolution of Trenton’s waterfront.

Guests are invited to share memories of the flood. Complimentary refreshments are set to be serve at 2 p.m..
