Dongli Youth Dance Troupe, a dance group based in West Windsor, practices at Dutch Neck Elementary School in West Windsor every week. In January, the troupe entered the American Youth Talent and Art Contest in New York City for group dance. The troupe has been advanced to the final round of the American Youth Talent and Art Contest and will perform on April 28 in New York City.

The dancers performed at the recent Chinese New Year Gala held at High School North by the Huaxia Plainsboro Chinese School. They performed a Chinese folk dance, Joyful Celebration of Spring, a demonstration of country girls’ excitement about going to the Chinese traditional spring festival.

Allison Liu, a member of the troupe and a sixth grade student at Grover Middle School, performed a solo dance, “A Talk with Moon,” that she had performed on television.

In April they will perform at West Windsor-Plainsboro Got Talent at High School South. The dance troupe, a team of 10 dancers, ages 5 to 13, often performs in libraries and senior centers.

Dancers from West Windsor include Karen He, Elena Li, Amy Deng, and Allison Liu. One dancer, Emily Luo, is from Plainsboro. There are also dancers from Lawrenceville, South Brunswick, and Robbinsville.

Their audition will be broadcast on Sundays from March 3 to April 20, at 9 p.m., on SinoVision Channel 63.4 (WMBC-TV).
