Former West Windsor councilman Franc Gambatese has confirmed he is no longer pursuing plans to purchase the building in the heart of Grover’s Mill to convert it into a coffee shop.##M:[more]##

Instead, the Grover’s Mill Coffee shop will move to the Southfield Shopping Center, right next to Rite Aid. “We’re going to switch over to that place, and hopefully, we’ll be opening up in September,” Gambatese says.

Originally, Gambatese entered an agreement to purchase the red barn-like structure on Cranbury Road across the street from the Grover’s Mill Pond — which was the site of a lawnmower repair shop — from current owner Bob Kemp. He had negotiated for over a year with Kemp before settling on a price, which both men had not disclosed at the time.

When asked why he is no longer pursuing the building, Gambatese said: “We were in contract for a year and a half. It just became very complicated. We decided to end the contract.”
