It’s impossible to pass for the first time by Dohm Alley — the space between Starbucks and Landau’s on Nassau Street that has been transformed into an art installation — and not have your curiosity piqued, either by the combinations of art work or greenery on the walls, or by the sometimes-leaking water features, or the sounds of birds being piped through speakers. It will be even harder to miss later this month when Carrie Ellmore-Tallitsch brings her performance art to the space.

Ellmore-Tallitsch, a Princeton resident and professional dancer who has worked with Martha Graham Dance Company, presents “Within And In Between” on Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21, at noon and 6 p.m., rain or shine. She describes the piece as “an interactive ecological moving exhibit installation” that attempts to “restore and conjure conscious co-existence within nature” and “communicate to humanity that caring for our earth is paramount in these current times.”

The show will feature musical accompaniment by her husband, Tom Tallitsch, a composer and saxophonist who has performed previously in the alley space as well as other area venues.

The Dohm Alley shows are the first in a planned series of site-specific performances intended to highlight the beauty of nature.
