Base Camp Trenton has announced the beginning of a series of free workshops for small business owners and non-profits. The first presentation in the series, The Art of Facebook and Social Media, will be held on June 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Base Camp Trenton, 247 East Front St., Trenton.

The Art of Facebook and Social Media session will be held in collaboration with Cooper Creative Group, an organization that supports small businesses in advertising and corporate communications. Founded in 2010, Cooper Creative Group operates as a consortium of local experts in marketing, technology and communications, and specializes in working with small businesses, non-profits and entrepreneurs to establish brand recognition.

Founder Sara Cooper and public relations expert Pat Coleman-Boatwright will lead the Art of Facebook session. Designed to be not just a presentation but a conversation, attendees will explore the merits of social media and Facebook in particular.

“It’s not just about boosting online activity,” Cooper said. “It’s about creating an online presence that fits your company’s needs. What we’re looking to do in this session is share our philosophy and guide businesses on efficient management of both the process and the expectations.”

Base Camp Trenton is Trenton’s first coworking space. Catering to freelancers, telecommuters, travelers or simply people who typically work from home, Base Camp Trenton provides a comfortable working environment, complete with printers and other office technology. Base Camp Trenton is also host to several events designed to boost creativity and assist professionals who aspire to keep moving forward.
