Authors Eugenides and Lahiri visit Princeton Day School

Pulitzer Prize winning authors Jhumpa Lahiri and Jeffrey Eugenides visited Princeton Day School Oct. 2.

The event, co-sponsored with the Princeton Public Library, was part of Lahiri’s tour to promote her new book, The Lowland, which has been shortlisted for the prestigious Man Booker prize.

Lahiri read from her new book and then was joined onstage by Eugenides, a PDS parent. the authors discussed the genesis for the new book as well as the context for the story, and then took some questions from the audience.

The 400-seat McAneny Theater was filled to capacity. Labyrinth Books was on hand to sell copies of The Lowland to members of the audience, who were able to have their copies signed by Lahiri after the presentation.
