A 43-year-old Trenton man has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a juvenile that allegedly occurred several years ago, Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey announced Tuesday.

Irin Green, 43, was taken into custody on June 13, following an investigation by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Trenton Police Department.

He is charged with one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to criminal complaints, Green is accused of sexually assaulting the child approximately four years ago at a residence in Trenton. The victim and the child’s mother reported the incident to police earlier this month, prompting the investigation.

The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Green pending trial.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Sergeant Sherika Salmon at (609) 960-3119, Detective Michael Staton at (609) 989-6350, or email mcposvu@mercercounty.org.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
