The time has come for Sangeeta Warier of West Windsor to reach her dream with the purchase of That Pottery Place, a place to create your own pottery, on Clarksville Road in Village Square Shopping Center. “I’ve been interested in pottery for over two decades but never really had the opportunity to do anything about it,” she says. “I didn’t really think I would ever be able to do something like this and it really is a dream that is on its way to realization.” That Pottery Place offers pottery painting as well as art and pottery classes for children and adults. Grand opening events are scheduled for Saturdays, May 14 and 21, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Warier used to take pottery throwing lessons at the store. When the previous owner decided to sell the business, Warier took the opportunity to buy the business. “By no means am I an expert ,and I will continue taking lessons with our in store teacher Julie Stell,” she says.
Warier, who has an IT background, started her career as a corporate trainer, moved on to instructional design, and then became a technical writer. “I love pottery and it takes me into a meditative zone that nothing has until now, and I love what I’m doing,” she says.
She moved to West Windsor two years ago with her husband, Sunil, who works at PWC in New York City. Their son, Uday, is a sixth grade student at Grover Middle School; and their daughter, Swati, is a third grade student at Maurice Hawk School. “We moved to West Windsor because of the schools and I am very happy with the way things turned out,” she says. Warier is active in both PTAs and the troop leader for Brownie Troop 71895.
“My husband convinced me to buy That Pottery Place and is the most supportive person I have ever met,” she says. “It’s a fun and relaxing place and the perfect place to let your imagination run free.”
