Silpa Kovvali, a senior at High School North, has been named a semi-finalist in the Presidential Scholars Program. The 550 semifinalists were selected from more than 2,”700 candidates on the basis of superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character, and involvement in community and school activities.##M:[more]##

She also has received a National Merit Scholarship, the Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar Award, and a certificate from the New Jersey General Assembly saluting Kovvali for her nomination to the Times of Trenton annual allstar academic team. She will attend Harvard in the fall.
