Yes, Virginia . . .

There are caring people in the world.

“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist…”

This is just as true today as it was 116 years ago, when this famous editorial was published in the New York Sun.

We lost our dog, Harvey, in Mercer County Park on December 3. Panic set in, yet almost immediately, the spirit of Santa Claus came to life. For the next 30 hours, family, friends, and total strangers spread the word, prayed for his safe return, and continued to help us search.

Very fortunately, Harvey’s adventure ended well the next evening, when two gentlemen from East Windsor caught him near the Bark Park. Thank you, George and Rick!

We also want to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to Kathy’s mom and sister Kim, Teresa, Fran, Carol, and their neighbors on South Post Road and surrounding streets, as well as the Mercer County Park Rangers, especially Ranger Nitschmann, the West Windsor police, the park maintenance crew, my co-workers at Foxmoor Animal Hospital, Hobson Dog Training, and the APAW (Animal Placement Agency of the Windsors) shelter manager and volunteers.
