West Windsor Library Book Sale a Success

The Friends of the West Windsor Branch of the Mercer County Library wish to thank the community for its generous support of our 31st annual book sale by donating and purchasing more than 25,000 books. The book sale was a great success! We also want to thank the many volunteers whose constant support make this sale possible and fun to run. Additional particular thanks to Sam’s Club, McCaffrey’s Wines & Spirits, Bottle Keg, and Joe Canal’s for providing us with boxes and flats in which to display our wares, McCaffrey’s for supplying grocery bags to hold purchases, and our local press — WW-P News and other area newspapers — for advertising our book sale dates and times.

The annual book sale is the Friends of the Library’s only fundraiser. All items sold were donated by the community since last year’s sale. Many of the donations are put into circulation, while others are sorted and held for sale. Proceeds from the sale are used to sponsor special community events held at the library; fund the library’s children’s, young adult, and adult programs; expand the library’s collection; as well as provide other projects and purchases not supported by the Mercer County Library System budget so that our branch library can better meet the needs of our community.

The library accepts donations of new and gently used books and audiovisual materials. Please bring your donations to the circulation desk. Tax receipts are available. Please call ahead if you have a large number of donations so that we can accommodate them. Information on the Friends and donations is available on our new website: sites.google.com/site/friendsofthewestwindsorlibrary. We hope to see you at next year’s sale or frequent the ongoing sale of special books in the library.
