The contest is open to students from pre-K to 12th grade living in Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset counties and Bucks County, Pa.

Students are challenged to write essays — no longer than 450 words — on how teachers have influenced their lives.

PrincetonKIDS plans to select five winning essays. The teacher featured in each winning essay will receive a $100 gift card courtesy of PrincetonKIDS. Selected excerpts from each winning essay will be published the Spring 2014 KIDS on the go! Guide. And, each winning essayist will receive a special treat for his or her entire homeroom class.

Entries can be mailed to PrincetonKIDS at PO Box 1392, Princeton, N.J., 08542 or emailed to teacher@princetonkids.com. Submissions must be postmarked by March 1, 2014.

Submissions should include the entrant’s name, age, grade level, school, contact information and name of the student’s teacher.
