Artwork by 75 Mercer County Community College students is displayed in the annual Fine Arts Students Show scheduled to be open through May 10.
Students, faculty and staff celebrated the arts at an opening reception on April 24.
The exhibitions features many types of art, including painting, three-dimensional wall art, sculpture, advertising and graphic design.
Artwork is by full-time and part-time students.
Hamilton resident Monica Kwok works as a lab technician at Rutgers University. She studies watercolor for six hours on Saturdays with Theresa McNichol.
“You must learn to control how the water brings the color around. There is a definitely a learning curve. But the clean-up is easy,” Kwok said. Her painting “Resonance” is set to be displayed in the exhibition.
Retiree Lynne Faridy, of Levittown, Pa., has been taking art classes at Mercer for many years. She thinks taking classes at MCCC helps satisfy her soul.
“Everyone should paint or do something creative. It satisfies the soul,” Faridy, whose painting “A Day on the Farm” is featured in the exhibition, said.
The exhibition is displayed at The Gallery, located at MCCC’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
The Gallery set to be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays.
