Seeking Marrow Donor for Jerry Hurwitz

Share post:

Be the Match, a drive to find a matching bone marrow donor for a leukemia patient, will be held Sunday, December 16, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Walker Gordon Farm Club House, Walker Gordon Drive, Plainsboro.

Jerald Hurwitz was diagnosed with acute leukemia recently, according to his wife, Rachelle. The couple learned that matches are very difficult to locate for minorities.

Rachelle is a WW-P school board member, while Jerry is president of Princeton Battlefield Society.

Hurwitz’s family has made so many contributions to our community. It’s time for us to pay back. I encourage everyone to come out and show support for this family.

There is no charge for the event or becoming part of the National Marrow Donor Program. Donations in Jerald Hurwitz’s name can be made to Icla Da Silva Foundation Inc., 11-49 47th Ave., 2FL, Long Island City, NY 11101 or at www.ida.org.
