Republicans Needed for WW Volunteer Positions

Share post:

West Windsor has a number of township committees comprising local volunteers and administrative representatives. The volunteers are generally appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the town council.

Vacancies are periodically filled as openings arise. Over the past many years the mayor has appointed Democrats to fill those committees as a way of extending his control over the township. Recently the council has forced the mayor to take a more balanced approach by withholding consent when multiple candidates have applied for open positions.

If you want to get more personally involved in the community you can submit a short resume to apply for an open committee position.

Current openings include Alternate 1 on the affordable housing committee (term expiring December, 2017); environmental commission advisor (term expiring December, 2017); human relations council members (four terms expiring December, 2016); Alternate 2 for the board of recreation commissioners (term expiring December, 2017); membership on the shade tree commission (two terms expiring December, 2015, and December, 2019); and resident representative to the site plan review advisory board (term expiring December, 2017). If you see something of interest send your resume to the township: West Windsor Township, Town Clerk, PO Box 38, West Windsor NJ 08550 and identify the committee opening(s) you are interested in.

You can even do it by E-mail by adding your resume as an attachment to syoung@westwindsortwp.com. You may also want to give council members Bryan Maher, Linda Geevers or Peter Mendonez a heads-up to let them you are applying.
