Mercer County is creating a Bicycle Master Plan and has scheduled several meetings to allow the public to learn more about this long-term plan and provide input.
The plan is intended to guide installation of bicycle facilities on county highways, connecting with state highways and municipal streets. These facilities will also connect neighborhoods with parks, schools, open space, retail sites, employment centers, public facilities and anywhere else people may need to go.
The following four meetings are scheduled around the county in June:
– Ewing, Monday, June 17, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Ewing Senior Center, 999 Lower Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ 08628.
– Hightstown, Thursday, June 20, 5 to 7 p.m.; Hightstown Memorial Branch Library, 14 Franklin St., Hightstown, NJ 08520.
– West Windsor, Monday, June 24, 5 to 7 p.m.; Princeton Country Club, 1 Wheeler Way, Princeton, NJ 08540.
– Trenton, Wednesday, June 26, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.; City Hall Atrium, 319 East State St., Trenton, NJ 08650.
The county says a meeting in Princeton will be scheduled for July, and additional meetings will be scheduled for September.
Mercer County say it has also prepared a survey to learn more about residents’ biking patterns. The stated goal of the survey is to use these responses to prioritize improvements and promote various elements important to the bicycling community.
