Letter: Suburban Mom thanked for many years of columns

Share post:

I am not the “letters to the editor”-writing type, but with Euna Kwon Brossman’s last “Suburban Mom” column having just appeared, I felt compelled to write and thank her for her years of interesting, thought-provoking and at times quite moving columns.

I remember Ms. Brossman from her days as a television newscaster in the New York market and was delighted when I found she had relocated to our community following a West Coast stint and was now writing for the West Windsor and Plainsboro News.

I’m in the same general age bracket as Ms. Brossman, with similar aged kids, so much of what she wrote about resonated with me as my family was experiencing many of the same life events and transitions at around the same time.

I found her columns to be chock full of wisdom, warmth, wit, and humanity. I will miss them, but I recognize that with the passage of time her role as a suburban mom has taken a turn, as indeed with our youngest just having graduated from college and joined the working world my wife and I will be entering a new phase of our lives as well.

So thank you, Ms. Brossman, for touching and enriching our lives for the past 15 years, and best of luck to you and your family (I almost feel I know you all although we’ve never met) as you head on to whole new series of challenges and adventures.

— Robert Harris, West Windsor
