Lane closures to affect Pennsylvania-bound traffic on 295

Beginning Monday July 8, 2019 at 6 a.m., Pennsylvania-bound traffic on 295 will be reduced from three lanes to one between Exit 73 (Scotch Road) and the Scudders Falls Bridge. Drivers are encouraged to plan an alternate route of travel for the remainder of the week.

During that time, crews will construct a new section of the highway, steering all lanes over toward the new Scudders Falls Bridge entrance. During peak hours, traffic is predicted to back up on 295 as far as Route 1.

In addition to the 295 construction, work on the Quakerbridge Road bridge over the Northeast Corridor rail line will continue. The bridge, which spans Amtrak tracks in Lawrence Township near its border with West Windsor Township, will be down to one lane in each direction 24/7. Drivers should expect delays, the county said. The right lane and shoulder on Route 1 approaching Quakerbridge Road in both directions will also be closed for utility work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
