In Response to What’s Happening

Mr. Church / John: Thank you for sharing with the busy public the toxic atmosphere which defines our local politics. Let me add a few points.

(1). For how many years have I been filing Open Public Record Act requests on what the mayor and administration know about their own operations. I have a fistful of replies: no such document, information does not exist. And this is pure nonsense. Would any of you put your life savings into their hands? The answer is no/yes because West Windsor Township is seriously bloated in its spending. The township is run like a club — like members of the Pepsi Generation.

(2). Ask the professionals we employ to document their accomplishments for a single fiscal year and/or how to trip their budgets by 10 percent. The silence is deafening. I have railed against no-bid professional service contracts for years — to no avail.

(3).One can never shame a politician. The mayor is no exception. It is abundantly clear why Emperor Hsueh surrounds himself with incompetents . . . and incompetence. Insecure people never want people smarter than are they because it would showcase their short-comings. I object to Hsuehs private videotaped showings of taxpayer-subsidized town hall meetings where he talks forever — and I still do not have any idea what he says.

(4). Mr. Herbert, as township attorney, is the textbook neighborhood bully paid to stonewall and bury all things Hsueh. None of you thought it was strange the former business administrator hastily resigned from the township due to the Grover House scandal? The township administrator knows not why she was terminated from her previous municipal employer. Ah, close enough for the Best Town in the World. (Hsueh, Princeton Packet, June, 2013).

(5). Challenges for Council and residents come from the fact many municipal employees do not know their jobs and have little value-added. I want a 35.5-hour work week too but the real world dictates otherwise. West Windsor has every trinket known to mankind — and employees do not understand their own technologies.

(6). When the mayor as the director of public safety remains silent on matters germane to residents’ safety, he is a disservice. Everything is calculated in West Windsor to create the impression the township is Andy Griffiths’ Mayberry. Let me assure you the roof is not falling but it is staffed with a fleet of incompetents.

(7). Why would the business administrator and mayor not know how many staff know — and use — Excel to quantify the history, current and future operations of the township? This township’s budget is a guaranteed running 10 to 20 percent higher than it need be.

(8). We don’t have the right people in the proper management. Therefore the costs here are unnecessarily exorbitant.

Bad things happen when good people do nothing. (unknown)
