Authorities are investigating the death of a 17-year-old male who was reported missing in Plainsboro and later found dead, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The teenager was reported missing around 11:18 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the area of Hilltown Court. Plainsboro police officers searched the area for several hours but did not locate him, officials said.

The next morning, around 7:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, the teen was discovered unresponsive near Grover’s Mill Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The prosecutor’s office said the death is being investigated as a suicide. The boy’s name has not been released.

“Out of respect for the family, we are not releasing the name of the juvenile,” a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Plainsboro Detective Patrick Miller at 609-799-2333 ext. 1639 or Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Javier Morillo at 732-745-8843.
