County Clerk to hold series of passport days

Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello is set to host a series of passport days with the mayors of different towns in the county.

In Lawrence, she and Mayor Cathleen Lewis will host a passport day at the Lawrence Senior Center, located at 30 East Darrah Lane, on Thursday, March 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In West Windsor, she and Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh will host a passport day at the West Windsor Municipal Complex, located at 271 Clarksville Road, on Thursday, March 12 from 3 to 6:30 p.m.

In Robbinsville, she and Mayor Dave Fried will host a passport day at the Robbinsville Township Senior Center, located at 1117 Route 130, on Thursday, March 25 from 3 to 6:30 p.m.

In Princeton, she and Mayor Liz Lempert will host a passport day at in the Community Room of the Princeton Municipal Building, located at 400 Witherspoon Street, on Thursday, April 16 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to reserve a time to have their applications processed and their passport photo taken, however walk-in applicants are welcome. To make a reservation call (609) 989-6473 or email ctozour@mercercounty.org.

Passport photos will be taken on-site for $15 or $10 for senior citizens and minors under 16.

To apply for a US Passport, residents will need 1) Proof of US citizenship in the form of a state certified birth certificate, a US naturalization certificate or a previous US Passport. 2) Proof of identity in the form of a current driver’s license or state issued identification card. A US Passport is valid for ten years for adults and five years for minors. The cost for a passport is $110 for adults and $80 for minors plus a processing fee of $25. The federal government requires a separate check for each passport application.

For those who will be unable to participate in the passport event, the Mercer County Clerk’s office processes US Passport applications on a regular basis, Monday through Friday during regular business hours at County Clerk’s Office located at 209 South Broad Street in Trenton.
