A Response to Road Cyclists

Share post:

With respect to Eileen Murphy’s letter in the March 20 issue, commenting on a collision between a motorist and a bicyclist:

Here she goes again with her campaign to eliminate all car traffic on the township roads. Not sure of her motivation but she continues to harp on her only solution, which is to put all drivers in jail. Maybe her walker, jogger, cyclist friends ought to realize that not exercising caution, by navigating their way forward using half the roadway, is flat out dangerous and maybe illegal.

That being said, I’m surprised that the police are missing from action, especially since most of our 35 +/- police officers have little to do but to harass our citizens by trying to catch them going 30 mph in a 25 mph zone — my car idles at 35 mph. A good way to stop the budget growth is to reduce the police force to the level of necessary crime prevention in a town such as ours.
