The Old Barracks Museum is celebrating Trenton area artists and Trenton art in a month-long gallery show hosted in its historic 18th-century building. The Arts at the Old Barracks Gallery Show: “Trenton Makes” will showcase artworks that best exemplify Trenton art and artists. The show will hang during upcoming events to allow the public to experience these works throughout the month.

The Opening Reception will take place on Friday, June 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. for the public and artists. Following the reception, the gallery will be open to the public from June 7 to July 6.

Submissions are due Wednesday, May 1.

On Saturday, April 6, the Old Barracks Museum will be participating in the American Battlefield Trust’s Park Day event and is in need of volunteers to help with spring cleaning on the grounds. Volunteers should bring their own work gloves and rakes, and the museum will provide lots of coffee and donuts.

Volunteers will meet at the registration table at 9 a.m. Park Day will last until 1 p.m., but volunteers are welcome to participate any time during that window.

As a thank you to volunteers, the Old Barracks will be offering a free tour of the museum after the event. The museum will be closed to the public on Park Day. To register for this event, visit barracks.org/park-day.
