Capital Singers of Trenton to present Veterans Concert Nov 13

As part of the Capital Singers of Trenton collaborative 10th anniversary season, the chorus will join Philadelphia-based Broad Street Brass for a Veterans Concert on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place at St. Paul Church of Princeton located at 214 Nassau Street in Princeton.

Members of the Armed Forces, veterans, their families and all those who wish to recognize the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans are invited to share in an evening of patriotic and other choral music from the traditional to the modern. Selections will include: “Songs of the American Revolution,” “A Soldier and the One I Love,” “Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep,” “Shoshone Love Song,” “Wondrous Love,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and “Al Shlosha D’varim.”

Additionally, the six-member Broad Street Brass will play selections that include “Songs from the Civil War,” “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “My Lord What a Morning,” and the “Liberty Bell March.”

The concert will also feature a flag ceremony by the Travis Manion Battalion of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps and narrations from the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America and the Gettysburg Address, among others.
