Robbinsville residents will have an opportunity to donate blood this week when New Jersey Blood Services hosts a community blood drive at the Robbinsville Library.

The blood drive will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, from noon to 6 p.m. at the library at 42 Robbinsville Allentown Road.

The event is organized in partnership with New Jersey Blood Services, a division of the New York Blood Center, which supplies blood to hospitals throughout New Jersey and the region.

Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance. Appointments can be made online at the NYBC website.

Participants are asked to eat well and hydrate before donating and to bring a photo ID or New Jersey Blood Services donor card.

Donors must meet minimum weight requirements and be between the ages of 17 and 75. Sixteen-year-olds may donate with parental consent, and donors 76 and older must provide a one-time physician’s note.

Additional eligibility guidelines are available at nybc.org/eligibility.
