Richard Coyne named new Chair of Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce

The Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Richard Coyne, Partner at WithumSmith+Brown, as the new chair of the Board of Directors.

The formal introduction will take place with a reception on January 21, 2016 at Mercer Oaks Golf Club in West Windsor. Coyne has a history of board service, having served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors for six years, the role as vice chair for the past two years. Coyne will serve a two-year term as chair of the Board of Directors.

With more than 25 years of professional accounting experience, Coyne is a licensed certified public accountant in the states of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. His clients include advertising agencies and other creative services professionals, manufacturers, wholesalers & distributors, fast food companies, nursing home operators, government contractors and other closely-held businesses.

Prior to joining WithumSmith+Brown in 1984, he was a staff accountant in the Philadelphia office of Coopers & Lybrand. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), where he served as a member of the Committee on Social Responsibility. He is also a past president and current board member of the Institute of Management Accountants, Trenton Chapter.

Coyne’s commitment to the local community includes active involvement in area business, cultural and nonprofit organizations. He serves as associate treasurer for the Newtown Exchange Club and is a board member of the Newtown Chamber Orchestra. Coyne is also a board member and treasurer for the American Red Cross, Lower Bucks County Chapter and a board member of Capital Health System Foundation.

John Thurber, the immediate past chair of the Board of Directors, will remain on the board as Chair Emeritus for two years.
