Boy Scouts from BSA Troop 28 spent Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 1) collecting food for HomeFront, an organization helping homeless families become self-sufficient.

The Scouts collected food from customers of Pennington Quality Market. They collected over 1,500 pounds of food in all.

“Often people forget that hunger is a yearlong process. The food pantries at organizations such as HomeFront are nearly empty between holidays,” said Senior Patrol Leader David Horne.

Scouts who assisted in the drive included Horne, Kyle Jorgensen, Aidan Kron, Nolan Brody, Aidan McChesney, Ryan and Dylan Morris, Grant and Brett Gallagher, Aidan and Gavin White, Robert Hulbert, Jack Wagner, Alec Blatt, Colin Field, Russell and Justin Knab and Matthew Rotman.
