Sustainable Lawrence and the Lawrence environmental resources and green team set to host a tour of Atlantic City Utility Authority landfill and sewer treatment facilities on June 15.

The tour is set to feature Atlantic City Utility Authority’s recycling plant, trash transfer station, compost site, landfill, landfill gas to electric facility, wastewater plant, wind farm and solar arrays. Lunch will be provided.

“The Atlantic City Utility Authority is the most sustainable and innovative utility authority in New Jersey, with a long track record of serving their communities’ best interests,” said Pam Mount of Sustainable Lawrence. “Over the years, they have improved their operations through sustainable methods that can serve as a model for the rest of the state.”

The tour is open to the public; space is limited to 20 participants.

Participants are scheduled to meet at the Lawrence Municipal building at 8:30 a.m. and carpool to Atlantic City. The tour will end around 1:30 p.m. and return to Lawrence by about 3 p.m.

To register, call Pam Mount at (609) 924-2310 or email info@terhuneorchards.com.
