John S. Iannarelli, the president and CEO of Special Olympics New Jersey, recently resigned in order to return to the for-profit sector, where he had previously served in financial and operating roles.

Donald Slaght, the immediate former chairman of the board of Special Olympics New Jersey, noted that even though Iannarelli had only been with the organization a short time, “He exhibited and displayed his commitment to the mission of the organization and the athletes that we serve.”

Mike Quinn, former president and CEO of Special Olympics New Hampshire, has been hired as the interim president and CEO of the New Jersey program.

The Special Olympics New Jersey Board of Directors will begin a search for a full time hire in early 2015.
