The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County will host a program, “Planning and Planting an Annual Garden,” on June 13 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. The program will be held at the Mercer Educational Gardens located at 431A Federal City Road in Pennington.
Rutgers Master Gardeners who create and maintain the Annual Garden at Mercer Educational Gardens will share their practical knowledge and give tips on using annuals. They will cover the importance of planning and proper timing, share key design principles and give advice on how to select the best varieties, miniminze costs, keep critters at bay and tend the garden throughout the season.
The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County is a volunteer educational outreach program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Rutgers Master Gardeners particpate in many volunteer programs throughout the county, as well as answer home horticulture questions through their Rutgers Master Gardener Helpline, (609) 989 – 6853, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March-October and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. November-February.
