Lawrenceville Elementary School’s Week of Respect finished with a parade of respectful super heroes.

Kindergarteners wore t-shirt necklaces, first graders sported belts, second graders zoomed with capes and third graders carried shields all decorated with respectful words, pictures and slogans.

Students marched to the tunes of “Check it Out! (It’s About Respect)” by John Higgins and John Jacobson and “Be Respectful” by John Alston. Prior to the parade, instructor Dan Beal taught the children both songs in music class.

Physical education instructor Ed Francis led the parade through cones on the soccer field, while encouraging children to cheer for their schoolmates.

Activities throughout the week included a school-wide televised interview about the meaning of respect with LESter, LES’s dragon mascot. Celia Bavier, parent and co-chairperson of the garden committee, responded to questions about respecting the Earth during her televised interview. Upreet Bhatia’s class led the school in yoga poses on the day devoted to respecting your body
