Registration is now open for Lawrenceville School’s 12th annual Big Red Race to be held on May 3. The event will take place at 2500 Main Street in Lawrenceville rain or shine.

The starting gun for the adult five-kilometer course will fire at 10:15 a.m. Races ranging from 25 meters to a half mile will be available for kids, ages 3-11, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register by April 27 to receive a 2015 Big Red Race t-shirt. There is a $20 non-refundable entry fee for adults; $25 on race day. The non-refundable entry fee for runners ages 12-17 is $10; $15 on race day.

A food donation will also serve in lieu of a $5 entry fee for runners in the 5K under 12. All children’s race participants will receive a finisher’s medal and t-shirt.

Tickets for the Big Red Raffle will also be on sale. A host of awards are up for grabs, including a special treat for the Lawrence Township family with the most participants in the Adult 5K and Kid’s Race.

Last year, Big Red Race participants donated just over $15,000 to benefit local, underserved children. The event has generated more than $115,000 over the past decade — all used to send Lawrence Township boys and girls to the Lawrenceville School Camp, a residential summer camp in Warren County.
