Pat Sutton, noted New Jersey naturalist and author, is set to present “Backyard Habitat for Birds (as well as Butterflies, Dragonflies & More!)” on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hamilton Public Library, 1 Justice Alito Way, Hamilton. The program is sponsored by the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County and is free to the public.

Sutton will showcase native trees, shrubs, vines, wildflowers and even weeds that are most beneficial to birds and other wildlife. Whether your yard is large or small, urban or rural, you’ll learn how you can make a difference. A lifelong naturalist, Sutton will share common-sense garden maintenance techniques that will help property owners avoid practices that harm rather than benefit wildlife. The program will be packed with “how’s and why’s” of attracting birds, butterflies and other wildlife to your backyard, no matter how small.

There is no fee to attend the program, but seating is limited and pre-registration is required. Call (609) 989-6830 to register.
